Acaci (Breakfast Buffet at Acacia Hotel Manila)

When my husband and I were still dating, we like trying out different buffet restaurants. We’ve tried Vikings in MOA, Mercado in Resorts World Manila, Lola Maria Restaurant in Mandaluyong, Somethin’ Fishy in Eastwood, buffet breakfast at New Horizon Hotel, Cravings in Shang-ri La Plaza, Nanay Bebeng’s and Probinsya Buffet in Davao, and we’ve even tried the Sun Cruise Manila buffet. We really enjoy eating and we like feasting in buffet restaurants. Lately, we discovered the joy of staycation. You don’t have to travel far, no need to bring huge luggage, no plane tickets required, yet you get to relax, experience new things, and get to try international cuisines buffet style without having to bring your passport.

On my recent birthday, we made an overnight reservation at the Acacia Hotel Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa (read the story here). I was excited because aside from it's our first time to book in a five star hotel, I was also looking forward to try their buffet. We brought our food for lunch and dinner but we still sneaked in at Acaci to check their menu for dinner.

The bed in our room was super comfortable. If I can only ask for breakfast in bed I would but we have to go out to have breakfast. Although, I had to drag myself out of bed, I didn’t regret waking up early because I truly  enjoyed our breakfast at Acaci. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu. The food choices were simple,  common, sumptuous, straight to the point (no twist or any unfamiliar flavor), appetizing,  and flavorful. Aside from local dishes they also have international cuisine which was enjoyed by both their Filipino and foreign guests. We were escorted to our table upon getting there then we headed out to get our food. Our table was beside the glass walls which allowed us to view the bustling street of Alabang while enjoying our food. The food attendants were rapt in attending to their guests’ needs. They replenish the buffet in a timely manner and take the used plates from our table without being asked to. It might be better though if they will ask the guest first if they are done with their food before taking the plate. The guy sitting next to our table just went up to get additional food and when he came back the attendant already took his plate. Everything on their menu was well seasoned except for the Pancit Bihon. I thought it was a bit salty but tolerable so I still enjoyed it.

Hubby's soup concoction.

My plate: sunny-side up egg, steamed rice, chicken peccadillo, pancit bihon, fish fillet with sweet and sour sauce, glazed ham with pineapple glazed dip, tapa and orange juice

Hubby's plate: pancake with maple syrup and blueberry jam

Hubby's plate: (from the top going clockwise) potato wedges, buttered veggies, fish fillet, tapa, stuffed chicken with white sauce

I love this Taho! They used Muscovado for the sweetener.

Fresh peach and peach-passion yogurt for post dessert, hehehe

Aside from dinner and breakfast buffet, Acaci also has Sunday Champagne Brunch that offers unlimited Champagne from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Lunch buffet is from 12nn to 2pm and dinner starts from 6pm to 10pm. You can also make reservation by calling 720 2000 loc. 1911 or send them an email enquiry@acaciahotelsmanila.com. Reservations for 20 persons or more will require a 50% down payment at least 3 days before the date of dining to guarantee the reservation. Make sure to dress appropriately because they implement casual chic dress code when you dine at Acaci. Although, some of the guests during breakfast was still in their PJs and I didn’t see anyone approach them to ask them to change their clothes.
