Welcome snack (tea and cookies) – I’ve read that a blogger and her kids were treated with welcome snack before starting their treatment. She mentioned that it was part of the package (they have Aromatherapy which was what we had, Hilot Massage, and Body Scrub). Since we had one of the packages they have, I expected to be offered with something to nibble. Hmm… Maybe it was a special package they offered that day. (wink)
Disposable Underwear – you have an option to take a shower
and steam bath before your treatment and since the pew inside the steam room is
moist, your undies will surely get damped. I was glad to read that they provide
disposable underwear so we can go somewhere else after our treatment without
worrying about wearing wet undies. BUT this was not offered to us. Tsk. Tsk.
Tsk. I had to ask if they have disposable underwear before they gave us one.
Locker Room – I brought my phone and wallet to the spa
since I was sure that I can keep it in the locker room while the treatment is
ongoing. Got that idea from the blog that I’ve read. I was surprised when I was
told to just leave my valuables inside the massage room while me and my husband
take a shower. I know they can be trusted but I would feel more secured had they
issued me a locker. I’m not sure if the locker room was under construction since
they didn’t say anything why I can’t use it. Maybe all lockers were occupied?!?
My husband and I decided to have Aromatherapy for 1.5 hours.
We wanted to spend our vacation to just relax, indulge, and revivify. Our
schedule was from 8pm to 9:30pm but we went there around 7:40pm since we were
told that if we want to take a shower and steam bath, we must be there early.
Upon arriving, we were handed the waiver with questions which we need to answer
and sign before we can start our session. After we signed the waiver we waited
at the spa lobby for about 2-3 minutes then we were escorted to the shower and
steam room. I took a shower for about 3-5 minutes, we stayed inside the
steam room for 15 minutes then another quick shower for about 1-2 minutes
before we headed back to our room. Needless to say, we started our treatment
past 8pm.
The massage was nothing special maybe because our package
was aromatherapy which focuses on the scent of the oil they use. The masseuse
assigned to me was just stroking my muscles back and forth. I’m not sure if
that’s how it really should be but I definitely didn’t feel relaxed nor
rejuvenated after our treatment. The 15 minute complimentary massage we had in
our room was way, way, WAY better than what we had at Lurra Wellness Spa. We should’ve
probably chosen the Hilot Massage but there will be no next time for me in this
spa. I’d rather come back to Island Spa for better spa experience. We were
offered warm water or hot tea after our session. We were changing to our
clothes when I checked the time and it was only 9:16pm. Our treatment
only lasted for (almost) an hour. I wanted to complain but I didn't want
to stress myself out. After all, I went there to stay away from any hassle,
tension and other anxiety which I can always get from work. I didn’t want to
ruin our night so I just let it pass.

Shower Room |
They will give you a glass of water after using the steam room for hydration - very important! |
We were given a shampoo and soap each, bath towel, (maybe used since it's no longer inside a plastic bag) slippers, shower cap and pony tail (for me), and robe. |
