On my recent birthday, we made an overnight reservation at the Acacia Hotel Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa (read the story here). I was excited because aside from it's our first time to book in a five star hotel, I was also looking forward to try their buffet. We brought our food for lunch and dinner but we still sneaked in at Acaci to check their menu for dinner.

Acaci (Breakfast Buffet at Acacia Hotel Manila)
When my husband and I were
still dating, we like trying out different buffet restaurants. We’ve tried
Vikings in MOA, Mercado in Resorts World Manila, Lola Maria Restaurant in
Mandaluyong, Somethin’ Fishy in Eastwood, buffet breakfast at New Horizon Hotel,
Cravings in Shang-ri La Plaza, Nanay Bebeng’s and Probinsya Buffet in Davao,
and we’ve even tried the Sun Cruise Manila buffet. We really enjoy eating and we
like feasting in buffet restaurants. Lately, we discovered the joy of
staycation. You don’t have to travel far, no need to bring huge luggage, no
plane tickets required, yet you get to relax, experience new things, and get to
try international cuisines buffet style without having to bring your passport.

Staycation at Acacia Hotel Manila (Alabang, Muntinlupa)
This year, I will be
celebrating my first birthday as a wife. I wanted it to be extra special since
my husband and I just usually go on a date when we were still
boyfriend/girlfriend, plus, I am now into staycation. :) So, after browsing the internet,
reading blogs related to “best staycation place”, and finding a great deal
online, I’ve finally booked us at Acacia Hotel Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa
for an overnight stay. This 5 star hotel offers not just supreme Filipino
hospitality but also world-class hotel service. Its interior has a distinct
design that exudes sophistication and style but you would still feel comfy,
relaxed, and at home. Or at least that’s what it says on their website. This
will be our first time to stay in a five star hotel that’s why I was extremely
excited and come to think of it, this will be the grandest celebration of my
birthday.

SeboPacific: Round 2
Aaaaaannnd we’re back! Yes. It’s time to taste what’s in
store on their menu. We came their around past 8pm and as expected the place was
full packed and there was already one couple waiting to be seated. But we
didn’t have to wait that long. As a matter of fact, I was still contemplating
on what to order when we were ushered to our table. I know on my last blog about SeboPacific (view here)
I said I’ll try their sizzling pork chop but after seeing their menu, I was
torn between burger steak, pork chop, and longganisa, hahaha. Oh well, I guess
I just have to come back again to try the others.

Cafe Avenue (Imus, Cavite)
We were supposed to visit SeboPacific again last weekend but unfortunately, they were
closed. I’ve checked their FB account last October 12 and found out that they
are temporarily closed as they prepare for their new menu. Hmmm… interesting! I
thought they are closing for good because I heard from one of my agents that
SeboPacific is getting complaints from their neighbors because of the problem
with parking. Good thing they made an announcement that they will be re-opening
after a week. Now, I can’t wait until next week to try what they’ve
been cooking. Check out here my first time to experience their food.
Since
our plan to have dinner at SeboPacific was unsuccessful, we opted to try
this newly opened coffee shop called CAFÉ AVENUE along Aguinaldo Highway. The
place looks really chic from the outside and most of their customers are students,
families, and young couples. We thought why not give it a try since we are in a
mission to find local food businesses like this and promote it to our friends
in hope to have a place like Aguirre St. in Paranaque or Maginhawa St. and
Teachers Village in QC. So, off we go!

#fortheREZofMAYlife: (the making of) The Ring
I was browsing my phone the other day to delete old pictures
when I saw our photo while buying our wedding ring. I’ve been wanting to write
a blog about it but because of the time constraints while preparing for our
wedding, I’ve forgotten about it.
We bought our wedding ring from RL Jewelry in Binondo. It’s
the same store where my husband bought my engagement ring (read here the story of his proposal). He read online reviews and dialogues in chat rooms before
visiting the store. Knowing him, he wouldn’t buy anything online or in any
store unless he is sure about the quality of the product and if the price is
reasonable. One million pogi points for my husband for doing “extensive”
research about the four C’s, hehehe. I didn’t have any idea what “Four C’s” is
all about until he explained it to me. I super appreciated it that he really
took time to research about buying rings.
#fortheREZofMAYlife: Our Wedding Photos
After a month since our wedding, we finally got the first
glimpse on some of our wedding photos. These were all chosen by our photographer
which he posted on Eye in D Sky Facebook page. So far, I’m liking our photos
and I can’t wait to see the rest. Looks like we’ll have a hard time choosing
which one to add to our photo album.

SeboPacific: A Must Try!
It’s
almost dinner time but you are feeling lazy to cook and you are craving for
bulalo, some ribs and thinking of having fruit salad or leche flan for dessert?
You thought of going to Tagaytay but wouldn’t want to drive that far plus
it’s petsa de peligro? You had too much Jollibee, McDonalds, Yellow Cab and
Army Navy that it already makes you retch just by hearing or saying it? Well,
don’t be stressed because there is an alternative place to go to that could
satisfy your craving for a less cost. Try SeboPacific in Justinville
Subdivision Bacoor, Cavite.
I
visited this place last night with my husband. He found out about this (I
think) through one of his agents. My husband was eager to try this place
because of the good feedback he heard while it was my curiosity that makes me
want to try their food because I was intrigued when my husband said the staff
are tattoo artists. Hmmm… What more can they offer aside from showing their
gift by painting the skin?!
| Tricycle fare: 15 pesos from the gate of Justinville going to SeboPacific 14 pesos from SeboPacific to hi-way. |
